In the present number, she continues the discussion of the dōbuku (6) and (7), which is summarized below, adding the general conclusion. Dōbuku (6); white silk with woven pattern of chrysanthemum viewed from below, polychrome-woven (karaori) collar. (Pl. V. a, b; fig. 22): It is dōbuku of white damask (fig. 22), which has a collar of Karaori type polychrome weaving. This Karaori bears a pattern as shown in Pl. V. b and its dominant colours are white and red to which are added yellowish green, golden brown, pale blue, blue, green, dark green and violet. This garment is lined with red nerinuki silk and padded with floss-silk. Length, 123 cm.; weight, 790 g. Dōbuku (7); white rinzu silk of geometric sayagata pattern and cloud patterns, polychromewoven (karaori) collar. (Pl. VI. a, b; fig. 24): This dōbuku is of the rinzu silk with woven patterns of intricate diagonal lines and clouds, and its collar has zigzag patterns in karaori (Pl. VI. b). Its dominant colours are dark and pale red, and additionally golden brown, dark green, white, and violet. This dōbuku is lined with red nerinuki silk and padded with floss-silk. Length, 101.5 cm.; weight, 610 g By this study it has become almost certain that the eight dobuku which have been handed down in the Uesugi Family would have been used by UESUGI Kenshin (1530–1578), a war lord. The author made a comparative study with other dobuku of earlier periods which have definite association with such historical personalit TOYOTOMI Hideyoshi, 1536-1598, TOKUGAWA Ieyasu, 1542-1616, NAOE Kanetsugu, 1560-1619, shown in figs. 6 and 7 in No. 233, 16 in No. 243, 25 and 26 in the present number.
