And furthr, they taught the method of making engravings to Japanese for about a quarter of century starting from the 1590's, distributing the engravings to the flock and also using them for their publications. However, all the objects related to the church were supposed to be destroyed when Christianity came to be prohibited by the Shogunate. Accordingly, it is hard to get a complete idea concerning the kind and nature of the engravings which were brought from Europe and of the engravings then made in Japan.\n Just a few of these engravings have survived until today; some were kept secretly by adherents, some were confiscated by the officials and some were taken abroad. These are valuable art historical mateial, though they are small in number. Most of them are already published by scholars, but some still remain unpublished despite the fact that they are listed in the inventories of their owners. The author here introduces these unpublished pieces. On the other hand, there is tne problem of which engravings are European made and which are Japanese-made. The author\nclassifies all known material into European and Japanese works in this paper from a stylistic and a technical point of view. They include bound books, single-leaf prints and engravings set in ritual lockets.\n The imported examples date from two different periods, namely, the period when Christianity was propagated, and the period after it was prohibited and the country was closed to foreighners. As for the first period, there are fifty-five pieces in the Mito Shōkōkan, nineteen pieces in the Tokyo National Museum, six pieces in the Kobe City Museum of Namban Art and seven pieces in private collections. As for the latter period, only several pieces are known.\n On the other hand, twenty-three Japanesemade examples exist today. Most of them are in Christian books of the type known as Kirishitanban. As only four of these Japanese-made engravings are single-leaf prints, most of those examples are in libraries abroad, such as in Leiden and Rome. The specimens kept in Japan consist of one book and one single-leaf print which were returned to Nagasaki from Manila through Rome in the Meiji Era, one single-leaf print in the Mito Shōkōkan and one single-leaf print in the Tokyo National Museum.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"菅野, 陽"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Sugano, Yoh","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2021-04-23"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"285_23_Sugano_Redacted.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"7.8 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_11","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"285_23_Sugano_Redacted","url":"https://tobunken.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/6527/files/285_23_Sugano_Redacted.pdf"},"version_id":"c69f6c4f-4206-4ac0-b9fa-ce956c3757ee"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"聖難銅版画入聖牌・キリスト像銅版画入聖牌・両面使徒像銅版画入聖牌(聖ドミニコ・聖フランシスコ)・両面銅版画入聖牌(磔刑像・神の子羊像)(兵庫 神戸市立南蛮美術館蔵)・聖ドテロア銅版画・聖霊降臨銅版画(茨城 水戸彰考館蔵)","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Engravings in Ritual Lockets, Kobe City Museum of Namban Art, Hyogo (The Passion, Christ, St. Dominic, St. Francis, Crucifixion, The Lamb of God) / Engravings, Mito Shokokan, Ibaraki (St. Dorothy, The Descent of the Holy Spirit)","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"jpn"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"journal article","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"研究資料 キリシタン関係銅版画","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"研究資料 キリシタン関係銅版画"},{"subitem_title":"Material of Art Research: Engravings of Early Japanese Christendom","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"10001","owner":"3","path":["1078"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2017-10-05"},"publish_date":"2017-10-05","publish_status":"0","recid":"6527","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["研究資料 キリシタン関係銅版画"],"weko_creator_id":"3","weko_shared_id":3},"updated":"2023-05-15T14:26:04.926670+00:00"}
