 note = {In the present paper, four kosode in possession of Kishū Tōshōgū Shrine, Wakayama Prefecture, said to have been used by Ieyasu TOKUGAWA (1542-1616) (figs. 1, 2, 4 and 5) are introduced together with one sixteenth century kosode recovered in Yamaguchi Prefecture last year (Pls. V and VI). The auther made a diagram of measurements of remaining post-mediaeval examples of kosode for men in No. 228 of the Bijutsu Kenkyu about twenty years ago and a revised diagram with the above mentioned specimens added is presented in the present paper.
     The subtitle “Research Report of Old Costumes in Kishū Tōshōgū Shrine” used in Nos. 306, 310 and 311 is changed to “Research Report of Textile Works in Kishū Tōshōgū Shrine” from this number, for many textile works which could be the object of art historical study are kept by the shrine besides specimens of costumes.},
