In the midst of this tendency, there arose a feeling of necessity among young painters to adopt Western painting methods in order to revive a dying tradition of Chinese painting which lacked both three-dimensionality and a perspectival system. The first concrete manifestation of this tendency was Liu Haisu's “Declaration of the Establishment of the Shanghai Institute of Painting” of November, 1918, which subsequently led to Xu Beihong's “Methods for Reform in Chinese Painting” of the same year.\n From around 1912, the study of Western painting among young painters was centered at Shanghai. One of these painters, Tao Lengyue (1894-1971), first achieved fame around 1920 for his works which used traditional Chinese painting as a base. In these works Tao Lengyue incorporated western shading methods to produce paintings of moonlit landscapes which in their skill could be mistaken for oil paintings. This article attempts to introduce Tao Lengyue's career and works. Despite that Tao Lengyue was perhaps the first artist to construct a Sino-Western eclectic style, his works have been all but completely forgotten since 1949. The article concludes that perhaps the cause of Tao Lengyue's obscurity was that his works did not have the enduring influence of the Lingnan School, which appeared somewhat later.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"鶴田, 武良"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Tsuruta, Takeyoshi","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2017-10-05"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"358_22_Tsuruta_Redacted.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"8.9 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_11","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"358_22_Tsuruta_Redacted.pdf","url":"https://tobunken.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/6344/files/358_22_Tsuruta_Redacted.pdf"},"version_id":"3ae03a1d-2dd8-4ace-a1d8-f79c8e194d94"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"陶冷月筆瀟湘夜雨図(東京 個人蔵)・陶冷月筆江空秋月図・月夜観梅図(神奈川 個人蔵)・陶冷月筆月梅図・瀑布図(東京 林宗毅氏蔵)嶺南派・新国画運動","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Moon over the Xiao and Xiang, and Autumn Moon by Tao Lengyue, Private Collection / Plum Blossoms in Moonlight by Tao Lengyue, Private Collection / Waterfall by Tao Lengyue, Private Collection / Viewing Plum Blossoms in Moonlight by Tao Lengyue, Private Collection","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"jpn"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"journal article","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"陶冷月について―近百年来中国絵画史研究 三","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"陶冷月について―近百年来中国絵画史研究 三"},{"subitem_title":"Concerning Tao Lagyue: A Study of Chinese Painting in the Past One Hundred Years (Part III)","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"10001","owner":"3","path":["1028"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2017-10-05"},"publish_date":"2017-10-05","publish_status":"0","recid":"6344","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["陶冷月について―近百年来中国絵画史研究 三"],"weko_creator_id":"3","weko_shared_id":3},"updated":"2023-05-15T14:38:30.919739+00:00"}
