Therefore it is presumed that the work was executed by Bokusen in 1537, but nothing is known about this person. All the motifs expected in nirvāṇa painting are included and thus the work shows formal perfection. The composition is neat with śāla trees juxtaposed at even intervals and people grouped in a small space at the right end. This neatness of composition is a feature seen in similar works of the mediaeval and later periods. The precise ink lines of the details indicate the mastery of the artist.
