The previous section of this series of articles (Part V in The Bijutsu Kenkyū, No. 367) introduced the artists who studied in Japan. This article introduces Li Tiefu, the first modern Chinese art student to study overseas, Li Yishi, the second art student to study  in Europe, and Feng Gangbai, the third art student who studied in Europe and America. Then, from among the close to 140 art students who studied in West during the Republican period, this article discusses Xu Beihong, who played the largest role in the development of art education in Chine, and gose on to introduce the art movement begun by art students who studied overseas, namely the Haiwai Yishu Yundongshe, the Zhonghua Liu Fa Yishu Xiehui, and the Zhongguo Liu Fa Yishu Xuehui.\n     Appendix 1 lists the names of the art students who were published in the Zhongguo Liu Fa Bi Rui Tongxnehui Zonghui Tongxuelu record of the students who studied in France, Belgium and Switzerland, a document thought to have been published in 1942 or 1943.
