The Department of Intangible Cultural Heritage received from Tanabe’s surviving family a field notebook written by Tanabe during this investigation. An examination of the notebook revealed that most of its contents were excerpts from ethnographical materials concerning the South Sea Islands. Although there was very little entry about Tanabe’s own investigation, analysis of this notebook showed that Tanabe placed importance on ethnographical information that he collected in his investigation.}, pages = {115--124}, title = {〔資料紹介〕田辺尚雄の南洋調査ノート}, year = {2017} }
